The EURehabChildren Project, coordinated by Provest Consulting, is a research Project in the field of Vocational Education and Training aimed to establish an integrated approach towards Rehabilitation of Victim and Offender Children. The research aims to offer an integrated and innovative training and teaching method for professionals of rehabilitation services, which will finally help to the social inclusion of the offenders and victims.
Firstly, the current status of rehabilitation systems in various countries will be analysed against themes like violent crimes, sexual crimes, drug abuse and abuse/neglect. Using the research results different VET modules for sector professionals will be designed and the Handbook of Best Practices Methods and Guidelines will be prepared with four modules: Rehabilitation of Offenders and Victims Exposed to Violent Crimes; Rehabilitation of Offenders and Victims Exposed to Sexual Crimes; Rehabilitation of Offenders and Victims Exposed to Drug Abuse; Rehabilitation of Offenders and Victims Exposed to Abuse and Neglect.These modules will be tested and validated and additionally a policy recommendation document will be created and distributed to relevant policy makers at local institutions and public authorities.
Giovanni Crisonà brings in this project two specific CSCS past experience:
- APL – done from 2009 to 2011 within the ‘APL – Accreditation of Prior Learning’ project, an European Commission, Leonardo da Vinci Programme funded research, aimed to provide youngsters in prison support in making a portfolio of their learning. The project was coordinated by ROC Aventus NL.
- CB4LLP – Capacity Building for Lifelong Learning Programme – European Commission, Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) – funded Centralized Actions. The final training materials will be designed taking inspiration form the CB4LLP method.
The EURehabChildren activities will end with an International Conference in Turkey in 2016.
